5k baby! Race Day Weekend... ♥

I'm quite certain that weekends can't get better than this!
On Friday night, I headed out to Logan to se my sister and run our 5k! The morning of the race, I ate oatmeal and drank a bottle of Cytomax to give myself some energy.

With my sister, before the race.

Lisa and I picked up our packets about half an hour before the race started, and then we warmed up and stretched out. (My favorite stretches are the butterfly stretch and any calf stretch. [Shin splints suck!])

Numba' 70!!!

The first half of the race was easy peasy. I had no problem keeping my breathing even, and I rather enjoyed it. The last half though... It was brutal. Everything hurt, I had to really concentrate on my breathing, and I was pretty much just trying to finish. Once I got to the last quarter mile, I picked up the pace. That's when things got really tough. I was cramping like crazy. At the very last stretch, I sprinted in and was feeling pretty proud of myself. Overall, I enjoyed the race. It was tough, but I'm proud of myself for doing it. I'm definitely gonne run a few more 5ks and at least one 10k before the Timp Marathon comes along in July.

My race t-shirt. Represent!

As Lisa and I were driving back to her house, she looked at the clock and realized that her Body Combat class had just started at the gym. We went straight from the race to the gym, and did an hour of Body Combat. I think I'm in love. I'm going to start taking classes at my gym now!

MEET RICHARD
After our Body Combat class, Lisa dropped me off with my friend Richard, and we talked for 15 minutes before he had to go to work. I got to ride on the back of his beautiful bike on my way back to my sister's house... It's very fast. Me likey. Motorcycles ROCK.

My niece and I.

I love authentic Mexican food.

My sister, her daughter, and I went out to eat on Saturday afternoon. It was super yummy. There's nothing like fresh chips ans salsa. The restaurant was called El Toro.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I took some pictures of m lovely niece this weekend. She was so cute and photogenic. I absolutely love her eyes.

My niece with her uncle (my brother.)

I did her hair for this little photoshoot. Here is a detail shot of her hair:

Funny Story!
Lisa, my niece, my brother, and I were driving around after we finished taking pictures, and she was being silly. She kept driving around in circles and my niece was complaining that she was car sick. Lisa, being the silly mama she is, kept teasing and driving in circles, so my niece insisted that her mom owed her some frozen yogurt. I was in. I love frozen yogurt!

Sweet coconut frozen yogurt with mango sauce and fresh fruit. Mmm....

"Hey Morgan, what was your favorite part of the weekend?"

I love my family, but my favorite part of the weekend, by far, was spending time with David.

After I drove home from Logan on Saturday night, I took a long bubble bath then headed over to David's house. We spent most of today laying around and watching TV. It was a wonderful lazy day. :)

I'm watching "The Lincoln Lawyer", then I'm off to bed. I have work tomorrow!

Finals Week is Over! ♥

I don't know if the past week could have been more stressful than it already was. A dance final, a speech, two journals, and two analises... Yeah, psycho.
CRAZIER?
I'm already registered for 12 credit hours during fall semester. I'm taking Intermediate English, Biology 1010 w/ a lab, US Government and Politics, and a meditation class. (For my lifelong wellness credit.) As much as I hate finals week, I am looking forward to school in the fall. I figure since I plan on being in school for the next 10 years, I might as well enjoy it..
I only trained on Monday this week, cause school was crazy, and David was sick. I spent a bunch of time with him, so I'm praying I don't catch it. I'm planning on running tomorrow before I head up to Logan to stay the night at my sister's house before the race.
I brought David a couple herbal remedies today, and it was pretty funny... His family has never been into that stuff, and I'm pretty sure his dad thought I was trying to grow him a third arm... But alas, he will be feeling better in no time thanks to my "witchcraft."

Random note!!!
My Guilty Pleasure:
HULU

I am currently mildly obsessed with "Pretty Little Liars." It's something I'm slightly ashamed of, because I'm not usually into the girly-girl, drama-drama shows that are all over television.... But I LOVE it. *Crazy face grin...*

PHOTOGRAPHY
My grandparents were visiting from California this weekend. I was so happy to see them, and they were so happy to see their baby great-granddaughter!

The wedding last weekend was really fun too. I'll have to share some of those photos in my next post. They'll all have David Terry's watermark on them (Photographer David, not to be confused with the other David, they're different people.)

Also, I have all kinds of fun fashion things that I don't have time to post now, but I spent quite some time internet "window shopping" today, so I have a few new obsessions.

'Til next time,
Love, Morgan.

Thai Food. Mmmm...

I have had a quite pleasant weekend so far.
Yesterday afternoon I photographed a wedding reception with my mentor, which was a lot of fun (as always.) When I went home David came over and made me dinner. It was some wonderful Thai recipe from his step-mom's cook book.

Not gonna lie, I like a man who can cook. It was a fun night.

This is what I wore to photograph the reception yesterday. It was classy yet comfortable.

I also go to spend some time with my niece this week. She's so damn cute! She LOVES my ceiling fan. She would stare at it for hours.

She's being blessed at my parent's house today. I should actually be on my way there right now...
Off I go!
Love, Morgan.

PS I got a new widget that tracks my training! ----->

Don't Fight Forces, Use Them.

PHOTOGRAPHY

As I said in my last post, I had the opportunity to photograph a wedding yesterday. It was a really fun wedding, and the couple was so cute! Here's a few of my favorite shots from last night.

They were married in the LDS Oquirrh Mountain Temple

Guess who ran a full 5k on the treadmill on Tuesday!!! That's right, my friends, I did! I was so unbelievably stoked.
My Current 5k Time:
31 minutes 3 seconds.
Tonight, David and I are going for a run on a trail. Since my 5k next weekend is going to be outside, I need to start practicing outside. Running on grass or dirt is better for your muscles, so we're hitting up a dirt trail. I know that running outside is harder, so I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm also being a little bit naughty with my eating habits lately. It's so hard to eat healthy when I'm busy! My goal for the next couple weeks is to put together a menu (Thank God for Pinterest), and FOLLOW IT. The following is the hard part.

If I don't get outta here, I'm never gonna get on that trail, so I'm off!
Love, Morgan.

All I Smell is my Personal Best ♥

Today I am going to start with my muscle  memories, because I had a personal best last night! I ran 2.5 miles in 25 minutes. I know, I know, to you super amazing athletes that sounds like nothing. I, however, am not a world class athlete, so I'm damn proud of myself! I actually learned a new trick last night that helps me keep going without getting bored. I start my run at 5.5 mph, and I move up .1 mph for every two minutes I run. By the time I get to 25 minutes I'm running 6.7 mph. That way instead of watching the clock thinking, "15 minutes to go..." I give myself a shorter goal. 2 minutes to go is much less overwhelming.

David and I were at the gym for about 3 hours last night, so we decided to go back to my house and make a pan of brownies. *happy face* I know, we're rebels.

^^^^ I went online today and designed this sweatshirt for myself. I have a bunch of guy friends who joke about this all the time.

"Go make me a sandwich, Morgan!"
"Morgan, what are you doing out of the kitchen?!"

Well, I'm getting myself a sweatshirt that says, "Go make yourself a sandwich.
I'm going for a run."
I swear, I'm going to wear this sweatshirt everyday!

I made myself a new banner, whatdya thing?

Shirt: Vanity      Belt: Walmart      Jeans: Vanity      Boots: Head Over Heels

The boots I'm wearing today are my favorite! I love how pirate-esk they are. The heels are also perfect, because they're not super thin, or super chunky, and they're just high enough to be pretty without being painful. I could stand in these boots all day and be fine.

PHOTOGRAPHY

I'm photographing a wedding tomorrow for my friend Haley so I borrowed some light equipment from another photographer. I made David pose for me so I could test it out. It's pretty ridiculous that he can look bamf even when he's kinda trying to be a dork...

I'll be posting pictures from the wedding I'm shooting sometime in the next week or so. [hopefully]

In conclusion, my life is still crazy and fabulous. Thank you for your time. [Can you tell I'm in public speaking class right now? ;) ]

Love, Morgan.

Weekends are like Christmas... Every 7 Days.

Holy, oh my goodness...!
The last 2 days have been crazy and awesome!

I went shopping with my friend Kirsten, and I got some dang cute stuff. The dress I bought will definitely be featured here once I get it tailored!

Here's my outfit from today. The shirt is a really pretty mint green, but the camera didn't want to pick up the color...

Fun hair flipping.

Shirt: Forever21   Pants: Forever21   Jacket: Thrifted   Boots: Payless   Pearls: Hand-me-down

I'm a pretty big t-shirt and jeans girl, so you'll notice that my style sticks pretty well to that. I rarely wear skirts and dresses, but summer is coming up, so I think you''ll be seeing a lot more of that.

PHOTOGRAPHY
Kirsten and I spent some time at the park today. She's such a fun girl!

What have you been doing for the past two days that's been so fun Morgan?

I knew you would ask!
To most people my last couple days would not sound super eventful, or even fun, but I am happiest when I'm kept busy no matter what it is that's keeping me busy.

This weekend, I cleaned my room, my kitchen, and my car. My car was one of the nastiest things I have seen... Ok, not really, but it was pretty bad. I vacuumed it out and even steamed the carpets.

David came over around 6 o'clock to let me borrow his steam vac and his car got towed, which I felt really bad about. Luckily, though, we had an awesome night in spite of it. We grabbed some coffee at my favorite coffee place (Sunset Coffee), and went for a hike in Memory Grove. It was dark, quiet, and peaceful.

I also got to spend time with Kirsten, obviously, and today was quite wonderful.

It is now almost 11 pm, and I should be getting to bed. Tomorrow I head out to the gym again! Keep your fingers crossed for me!

Love, Morgan
